What is Memory Foam?

Memory Foam is polyurethane based foam with open cells, meaning that air can pass into and out of tiny holes in the material. It is valued for its unique pressure reducing properties, and is currently used in countless applications, from memory foam overlays to car seats. Memory Foam responds slowly to your body temperature therefore not putting quick pressure on your face and is regarded as pressure relieving. It is also allergy resistant in that it does not make a suitable environment for dust mites (a common allergen).

Will my enVy™ pillow feel firmer if the temperature of the room is low?

If your room temperature is less than 60 degrees Fahrenheit it will initially feel firmer, however the warmth of your body will quickly soften the Memory Foam to its normal feel.

Will my enVy™ pillow turn yellow as it ages?

All Memory Foam turns yellow with age. This is simply Memory Foam's way of oxidizing. (Like a penny gets darker with age.) This is completely natural and in no way detracts from the effectiveness of the Memory Foam material. Our Memory Foam products will never compress, and will always retain its shape

Does the enVy pillow contain PDBE (a commonly used fire retardant in foam products)?

Many products, some imported, are highly toxic like melamine, leads and a long list of other "nasties".  A wise  consumer has to seek out quality products from quality suppliers.  The enVy pillow DOES NOT contain PDBE (Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether), formaldehyde or CFCs. It does, however, supply a lot of Zzzzzzzzs.

Doesn't Memory Foam fall apart quickly?

Like many of the misconceptions surrounding Memory Foam, this one stems from early problems with the formula, which have since been perfected. Memory Foam use to be notorious for flaking apart and collapsing after only a short period of time. In fact, when NASA first developed Memory Foam in the 1970's, the lack of durability was one of the reasons it was initially rejected for the space program.

Does Memory Foam smell?

Yes it may smell at first. When new, Memory Foam gives off a slight unpleasant smell. You will probably want to leave it to air for a day or two before using it.

Is All Memory Foam the same?

All Memory Foam possesses the same properties; however as with all things there are differences in quality. Consumers should be conscious that there are different grades of Memory Foam as well as various densities in the marketplace. The enVy™ pillow has been developed and manufactured IN CANADA with the highest standards which match or exceed any other memory foam product on the market.
