Hi,
My dentist told me I should write to you. This is true and I wonder if anyone else has had this experience. Since I was a child I have been a mouth breather at night. I even had my adenoids out when I was 5 years old because I complained to my parents (and them to my doctor) that I could not breathe through my nose when I lay down. The surgery didn't help and I continued to mouth breathe at night. So in my early 20's I began to have problems with my gums. Dentists and periodontists told me it was because my mouth would dry out at night from my mouth breathing and saliva was needed to wash the bacteria away. So I tried everything to stop my gums from receding but still have some long-term damage. Then I went to see a cosmetic dermatologist for an unrelated issue and, as I was turning 40, I thought the envy pillow would help prevent some of the little wrinkles I was starting to have. It did help with that and with some old neck pain I occasionally would have from an old car accident, but imagine my surprise when I realized I could breathe through my nose at night! It was a revelation and a first time for me.
So I kept using the pillow (now about 2 years) and my gums got better! At that point in my life I had no expectation about improvement to my gums as I had been battling the problem for years and just lived with it. But my dentist thought I should write to you to tell you about the profound change from the envy pillow. Some gum recession can't be undone, but the gum disease has stopped completely and I have lovely pink healthy gums.
Not to mention the other common experiences (less neck pain and less sleep creases). In short this pillow has changed my life for the better.
Thanks so much ladies for developing this excellent product. So nice you are nurses! (I am a nurse too.)
Best wishes, Nicole in Calgary
