Pillow Talk (42)
Frequently and not so frequently asked question #1:
What is memory foam and is the enVy Pillow's memory foam safe?
We did a lot of research when we developed the enVy pillow and chose a Canadian made high quality memory foam that is hypo allergenic and free of PBDE or any other fire retardant, formaldehyde, CFCs, toluene di-isocyate and dyes. What makes our memory foam hypoallergenic is that it does not harbour dust mites which tend to breed, reproduce and thrive in traditional feather and foam particle pillows. The end products generated by dust mites create allergic reactions and other respiratory problems. The structure of our pillow makes it impossible for any kind of "bugs"… including bed bugs to penetrate the pillow. This creates a cleaner and healthier environment and a truly therapeutic night's sleep. In addition the bamboo fabric we use to custom fit our enVy pillow is also anti microbial and dust mite resistant. The fact is that there is no mattress manufactured in North America that does not have foam in its construction. Having said all of this we know that not every product suits every individual and one can have allergies to something that someone else does not. Feather pillow are the pillow of choice for some… Latex pillows for others… yet both of these materials have caused allergic reactions in others. Memory Foam has been the product of choice for allergy sufferers.
RULE #10: IDEAL SLEEPING POSITIONS AND PILLOWS
I’m guilty of being a side sleeper, which exacerbates my longstanding history of shoulder and neck pain. I like to use enVy™ the anti-aging wellness pillow, which was created by two side sleeping Registered Nurses in the Preventative Health field. Since obtaining this pillow, I no longer wake up in the middle of the night with shoulder pain. It offers the option of side sleeping with the benefits of back sleeping: optimal neck support, superior sleep quality, no pain or sleep lines in the morning and it gently encourages back sleeping with every restful night. - Dr. Sara Solomon
