enVy® wasn't conceived in a product lab — it was conceived at the patient bedside, by two registered nurses who kept seeing the same problem go unsolved.

Kim Renton and Kathy Young Keefe are Canadian registered nurses with decades of combined experience in aesthetic medicine and sleep wellness. In their clinical practice, they repeatedly observed that patients investing in aesthetic treatments were inadvertently undoing results every night — through the repeated mechanical compression of sleeping face-down on a traditional pillow.

The research they conducted on this phenomenon — published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Aesthetic Nursing in 2015 — established that facial tissue compression during sleep is a distinct, largely preventable cause of wrinkles, separate from aging, genetics, or sun damage.

Together, they developed a solution — and gained national recognition when featured on Dragons' Den.

Sleep Positioning & Facial Tissue Compression: A Clinical Study

Published in the Journal of Aesthetic Nursing (Vol. 4, Issue 2, March 2015), co-authored by enVy® founders Kathy Young Keefe RN and Kim Renton RN. Drawing on multiple referenced studies, the article establishes that habitual side sleeping causes measurable facial tissue compression and shift — a distinct, preventable contributor to wrinkle formation, separate from aging or photodamage. The enVy® Pillow was designed as the direct clinical response.

CTT Group (SCC Accredited) — Klebsiella pneumoniae Testing

Conducted by CTT Group, an SCC-accredited laboratory (2017). Testing against Klebsiella pneumoniae using AATCC Test Method 100-2012 showed 84.1% reduction after 1 hour and 99.9% reduction after 24 hours of contact.

Most Significant Finding

Antimicrobial Performance Sustained After 100 Wash Cycles

Tested by Manufacturing Solutions Center (ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, Catawba Valley Community College, NC) using AATCC TM100-2019. After 100 standard home wash-and-dry cycles, enVy® COPPER fabric maintained greater than 99% reduction of both Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Most copper fabric antimicrobial claims degrade significantly with washing — this is the standard most brands cannot meet.
